Our client, an Oil and Gas Company is seeking an experienced Walk 2 Work Preparation Coordinator. This is a PAYE contract role based onsite in Aberdeen for approx 2 months, this will be a hybrid working pattern 3 days in office / 2 days at home.

Job Objective

We are seeking an Offshore Work Preparation and Walk-to-Work (W2W) coordinator to support the safe and efficient execution of the Client’s FPSO maintenance campaign.

The role combines work preparation, planning support, coordination, reporting, and offshore execution support activities to ensure maintenance scopes are fully prepared, appropriately resourced, and effectively coordinated throughout the campaign.

Acting as a key interface between offshore execution teams, onshore planners, scope owners, supervisor, engineers, vessel personnel, and contractors, the role ensures that all work scopes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with campaign objectives.

Key responsibilities

Work Preparation and Planning:

  • Review offshore work packs for maintenance and campaign activities to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Validate task sequencing, labour requirements, tools, vendors, and material requirements.
  • Liaise with offshore supervisors, planners, engineers, vendors, and execution teams to mature work scopes ahead of execution.
  • Collaborate with scope owners to review work orders and confirm readiness, ensuring scopes are fully developed and clearly defined.
  • Support capacity-evaluated planning activities for campaign execution.
  • Work closely with FPSO superintendents to identify and manage execution constraints, including plant status requirements, permit conditions, material availability, vendor support, SIMOPS considerations, and weather limitations.
  • Ensure all required materials, tools, consumables, and equipment are available offshore prior to execution.
  • Coordinate with onshore material coordinators to track and monitor delivery status of materials and services.
  • Assist with maintenance scheduling and prioritization of work scopes.
  • Review contractor and vendor work packs for completeness and readiness for execution.
  • Ensure all work preparation activities comply with company maintenance, integrity, and safety processes.

W2W Coordination

  • Coordinate daily W2W campaign activities between the FPSO, W2W vessel, and onshore support teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain oversight of campaign personnel-on-board (POB) movements and transfer requirements.
  • Liaise closely with offshore supervisors on personnel movements, priorities, and execution on priorities.
  • Monitor daily campaign progress against the execution schedule.
  • Identify any variances from the planned scopes and communicate impacts to supervisors, planners and relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate interfaces between multiple work scopes, disciplines and contractors to avoid conflicts and ensure efficiency.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication of transfer delays, weather impacts, and operational constraints.
  • Support onboarding and induction activities for all campaign personnel
  • Act as a focal point offshore for all W2W campaign coordination matters.

Reporting and Execution Support

  • Monitor progress of campaign scopes and provide clear, timely daily updates to both offshore and onshore stakeholders.
  • Review lookahead schedules and verify resource availability against planned scopes.
  • Identify and escalate execution risks, delays, and emerging issues to campaign leadership.
  • Support supervisors and team leads with progress tracking and execution reporting.
  • Assist with permit-to-work (PTW) planning and coordination for upcoming activities.
  • Track outstanding actions, material availability, and any work preparation constraints.
  • Support end-of-shift handovers and daily coordination meetings to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Contribute to end-of-campaign reporting, including lessons learned and continuous improvement inputs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of campaign progress, resource utilisation, and off shore activities

Safety and Compliance

  • Promote and actively reinforce a strong safety culture throughout all campaign activities.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with company HSE procedures, policies and off shore regulatory standards.
  • Support the preparation and review of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and task risk assessments.
  • Participate in and contribute to safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety standdowns.
  • Actively intervene and escalate where unsafe acts or conditions are identified.
  • Ensure strict adherence to offshore procedures, Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and campaign controls measures. Key Interfaces

About you:

  • Offshore maintenance and campaign execution experience.
  • Previous experience in work preparation, planning, and/or W2W coordination roles.
  • Strong understanding of offshore maintenance execution processes and workflows.
  • Experience with CMMS systems (e.g. Maximo) for work management and planning.
  • Good working knowledge of PTW systems and offshore safety requirements.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

You also have:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced offshore environment.
  • Experience supporting shutdowns, campaigns, or brownfield execution activities is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience (minimum of 2 years) in a similar role.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail and to show flexibility.
  • Working knowledge of Permit to Work Systems, CMM systems e.g. Maximo and Processes.
  • Knowledge and experience of Oil and Gas (offshore).
  • Understanding of HSE procedures, policies and offshore regulatory standards.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and objectives to a high level in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent in the use of all MS Office packages with a strong focus on MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
