Our client are looking for an experienced Project Purchaser for a contract based in Aberdeen. The role and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to the following:-

Job Description

Accountable Manager: Project Procurement Manager

Role: Project Purchaser

Temporary Contract - PAYE

Start - ASAP

Duration- End of 2026

Role Summary

This role will handle assigned purchasing processes, according to our procedures, ensuring that all activities are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements, relevant Management System and company policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

The Project Purchaser is accountable for purchasing, expediting and invoicing activities described in procedures for assigned work, agreed with line manager.

  • Sourcing of material and services for assigned requisitions, issue request for quotations, follow up on clarifications and quotes, evaluate quotes, select supplier and issue Purchase Orders
  • Facilitate technical clarifications of quotes
  • Evaluate and negotiate appropriate commercial terms and conditions with suppliers
  • Follow up deliveries to secure on-time delivery of assigned PO’s
  • Follow up return of material or disputes, until credit note or replacement is received
  • Ensure timely closing of PO’s
  • Support with monthly PO-accruals reporting for your assigned POs
  • Keep procurement files and systems updated in accordance with project requirements
  • Ensure the PRs & POs for where you are responsible reflects the correct values, statuses, and data parameters
  • Ensure timely handling of invoices

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Purchaser from Oil & Gas industry is essential
  • Proactive, systematic and structured, with high focus on quality
  • Committed to the highest level of business ethics and integrity
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbally
  • Experience from basic Microsoft Software

Qualifications

  • Relevant education or business qualification in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
