NETWORK ARCHITECT

Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Network Architect. This is a permanent staff position based in Aberdeen with a hybrid working system in place.

The Role

We are looking for a Network Architect to shape and lead the future of our network environment, ensuring it remains resilient, secure and fit for the demands of a growing business.

Reporting into the IT Operations & Delivery Manager, this is a senior technical leadership role with accountability for defining the network strategy, architecture standards and long-term roadmap across UK and international operations. You will provide expert guidance on network design, helping to enable business growth while maintaining operational excellence

Working closely with colleagues across IT, Digital & Data and the wider business, you will translate complex connectivity requirements into practical, scalable solutions. Strong Communication will be essential as you build trusted relationships with stakeholders, partners and suppliers.

You will lead and develop a team of network professionals, creating an environment that encourages Learning, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Through Empowerment & Accountability, you will support your team to take ownership of outcomes while maintaining high technical and professional standards.

Network security, resilience and business continuity will sit at the heart of the role. You will help ensure our infrastructure remains secure, compliant and dependable, supporting safe operations across all locations and reflecting our commitment to Respect, integrity and responsible decision-making.

We’re looking for an experienced network leader who combines technical authority with a collaborative and pragmatic approach.

Leadership & Responsibilities

Define and evolve the network architecture strategy, standards and roadmap across the organisation.

Provide technical leadership for secure, resilient and scalable network solutions across multiple locations and environments.

Lead, coach and develop a network engineering team, fostering capability and continuous improvement.

Influence stakeholders at all levels, translating business needs into effective network outcomes.

Oversee external suppliers and telecoms partners, ensuring service quality, value and performance.

Champion network security, resilience and governance, including support for business change and integration activity.

Experience & Qualifications

Proven experience in a Network Architect or senior network leadership role.

Strong expertise across enterprise networking, including LAN, WAN, wireless, security and cloud connectivity.

Demonstrable experience leading and developing technical teams.

Experience managing third-party network and telecommunications providers, contracts and service levels.

Relevant networking certification such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong stakeholder management skills and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required
