SENIOR COST CONTROLLER (PART-TIME 2.5 OR 3 DAYS PER WEEK)
Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator is seeking a Senior Cost Controller. This is a part-time role based in Aberdeen, working 2.5 to 3 days per week. It is an initial 12 month PAYE contract role.
Purpose of Role:
Lead the delivery of cost control services while providing senior leadership, mentoring, and support to cost controller(s) within team.
Ensure the required information is collated, validated and reviewed through engagement with the wider Finance function, so that grant claims submitted under the project Grant Funding Agreement meet the required level of definition and supporting evidence, enabling successful claim approval and payment.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
Delivery of Cost Control Services from self and team member
Lead the delivery of cost control services
Drive monthly cost reviews with incumbent budget holders
Co-ordinates and delivers monthly/ quarterly project information for senior management/ QBR reviews etc
Provide senior leadership, mentoring, and support to other cost controller(s) within the team.
Collate required information to ensure grant claims are approved and paid by DESNZ.
Ensure project cost and schedule alignment
Provide cost data required for Government, negotiations, financing or commercial
Provide back-up for Cost Controller
Provide ad-hoc cost analysis and management presentations as required
Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager.
Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
Degree qualified and/or appropriate experience and qualifications
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and support finance or cost control teams
Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality work by deadlines and work effectively under time pressure
Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, proactively drive change, take responsibility and deliver all cost control tasks through to completion
Understanding of Upstream E&P industry requirements
Understanding of Government grant claims beneficial
Strong understanding and experience within project cost control essential
Strong understanding of cost management and financial systems i.e. SAP.
Strong understanding of contracts/procurement working with multiple contractors.
Strong analytical skills
Strong MS Office skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the CCS BU, the wider organisation and key stakeholders such as Government or financing institutions
